At Immanuel, we believe that God deeply loves and values children of all ages and abilities as members of his church, and that he calls our church family to have the same heart. This foundational belief influences all the ways we seek to love, nurture, and include children and youth at Immanuel.

Our prayer is that our covenant children grow strong in their faith during their time with us, so that

“They shall be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor.”
— Isaiah 61:3

SUNDAY MORNINGS AT IMMANUEL

Read about children’s check-in procedures, our Sunday morning schedule, accommodations for children, and Communion Sundays.

SUNDAY SCHOOL

Our education hour focuses on studying God’s Word, fellowshipping with children of all ages, and growing in the practice and experience of prayer.

CHILDREN & WORSHIP

Our children’s worship programs are thoughtfully designed to allow children to continue their worship in developmentally appropriate settings that invite them to listen, watch, wonder, and respond to God in creative and personal ways.

VOLUNTEER

Children’s ministries are only possible thanks to our amazing volunteer teams. Browse our volunteer descriptions to find the right place for you to serve alongside our youngest brothers and sisters in Christ.

Outside Sunday Morning

MOthering together

Get together with other Immanuel moms to share about life, faith, and parenting. Morning Mothering Together meets the first and third Wednesdays of the month from 9:30-11:15 in the La Roca Room (childcare provided). Evening MT meets on the second Sunday evenings each month, during the youth group hours of 6:00-8:00 p.m., in the church lobby.

IMAGE MINISTRY

"So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them." Genesis 1:27a (NKJV)

At Immanuel, we are excited to be part of the work that Wheaton College’s Center for Faith and Disability and WITH Ministries are doing to help every church welcome, include, and serve alongside families and children who need extra supports. We hope to continue enriching our congregation and community through the active presence and participation of children of all ages and abilities.

Please find upcoming meeting dates for our parent support group, Image Ministry, in the IPC Newsletter or in the weekly bulletin.

If accommodations in the worship service or the Sunday School setting would be helpful for you or your children, or if you would like to learn more about parent supports available through Image Ministry, please contact our Children’s Minister, Annika Durbin.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

Each summer we host a week-long Vacation Bible School for kids entering first grade up through 6th grade. Dates for VBS 2025 are still TBD. Check back soon!
