Children’s Ministry Volunteers
CHILDREN’S MINISTRY DOES NOT EXIST without our amazing volunteers! All children’s ministry volunteers are required to:
Attend our Annual Children & Youth Volunteer Worshop at the end of August
Pass a police background check before serving with minors

Children & Worship
Our worship programs, Children & Worship and Following Jesus are for young children ages 3 years up through 2nd grade. They run during the worship hour, roughly 10:00-10:45.
Children & Worship (3’s & 4’s) focuses on God’s great story of redemption seen throughout the whole Bible.
Following Jesus (K-2nd) is a year-long study on the life of Christ.
Bible stories are presented using unique storytelling methods and multi-sensory materials, to allow children to enter in to the story with their imaginations. Following the story, they are invited to respond to God individually through drawing or painting, writing, reading, and prayer. They then open the Bible and listen to the same story read directly from Scripture. They share a Feast together, and end with a Blessing. We welcome them to worship in this special place apart from the larger congregation while they are young, so that they are able to participate meaningfully in worship with the larger congregation as they grow older.
All Worship Volunteers serve once a month from September through May, and are required to attend a Worship Training workshop in August.

Sunday School
Our Sunday School hour is focused on Bible education, building relationships, and prayer.
Our Shepherds (teachers) serve on a rotating basis: teach one week, assist one week, and have the following week off.
Shepherd roles available: Preschool-Kindergarten (3’s through 5’s), Young Elementary (1st-3rd grade), and Older Elementary (4th-5th grade).
Curriculum and training is provided for all Shepherds.
The preschool Bible curriculum follows the same stories from the Children & Worship classes each week, as repetition builds familiarity and understanding.
The Young Elementary class uses The Gospel Project curriculum.
The Older Elementary class uses the What’s in the Bible? curriculum.
Nursery
Nursery care is provided during the Worship hour (9:15-10:45) and the Sunday School hour (10:45-12:00). Volunteers sign up to serve on a regular rotation in one of those times.
Volunteer roles available:
Weekly Coordinator (Worship hour, leader, serves once a month, receives special training)
Weekly Assistant (Worship hour, assists leader, serves every 4-5 weeks)
Teen volunteer (Worship hour, must be 13-17 years old, serves every 5-6 weeks)
Sunday School hour (Adults 18+ only, serves once a month)
Weekly Nursery Cleaner (Cleans the nursery during the week, washes linens, disinfects toys, etc. Serves once a month)
Vacation Bible School
Each summer we host a week-long Vacation Bible School for kids entering first grade up through 6th grade.
This fun and meaningful week of ministry is an all-church volunteer effort! When else do you get to spend an entire week serving the Lord with members of your church family? Every year we finish VBS week with a deeper sense unity in our church community, as well as humble and grateful hearts for all the many ways God works in and through His people of all ages.
