Suffering for the Sake of Obedience

As our great High Priest, Jesus "learned obedience through suffering."  As hard as it might be to accept, we should not expect anything else in terms of our obedience as well.  Specifically, it is the aligning of God's will with ours that is often the most painful and challenging and the most crucial aspect of our spiritual growth and union with Christ.
