Week 5: Associative Strategies: Combined Quotations and Allusions

Types of Composite Citations:

  1. Combined - two or more excerpts are joined back-to-back under a single citation formula or other explicit marker to form a verbal unit

  2. Conflated - are characterized by the insertion of a word or phrase from one passage into a quotation from another passage

  3. Condensed - work with a single text and shorten or summarize it
