In this passage Paul continues to explain why he is confident that God's work will continue in the Philippians; there is evidence for that confidence even in the midst of Paul's imprisonment! Because the message of Christ cannot be thwarted through circumstances or even the shortcomings of the messengers, Paul can be confident that the Gospel will continue to advance. As so it did. And so it shall!
