The Promise of Difficulties

One of the promises of God that doesn't readily come to mind is the promise of difficulties. But Jesus would not sugarcoat what awaited His disciples, but instead tempered the promise of difficulties with the assurance that He has overcome the world. It is this knowledge of the both/and of these two truths that is to be the hallmark of His disciples even today.
