Augustine of Hippo’s The City of God was composed in a time of tumult as a help to Christians who needed to gain perspective on what was happening and how they ought to live in love. As we walk in times of great tumult and challenge, we’ll explore it as a prompt for faithful wisdom today.
Michael Allen teaches at Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando, where he is the John Dyer Trimble Professor of Systematic Theology and Academic Dean. He is also a Presbyterian teaching elder and theologian-in-residence at NewCity Orlando. He has written many books, most recently editing The Oxford Handbook of Reformed Theology. Emily and he studied at Wheaton College and were members of Immanuel for several years. They and their two sons live in Oviedo, FL.
