IPC Kids At Immanuel, our goal is to love and disciple children, following Jesus' example given in Mark 10:14. We believe children have a great capacity for worship and service. Each of our programs seeks to create life-long learners, as together our children are transformed to be more like Christ.
So take a look at our programs below and feel free to contact our Minister of Christian Education, Amy O'Brien, with any questions!
Baptism We believe that every baby born to an Immanuel family is a child of the covenant and that God's promise rests upon him or her. The church is the child's covenant family. At the child's baptism we promise our love and prayer and we pledge to support parents in raising the child to love and serve the Lord.
Worship (3 years old – 3rd grade)
At Immanuel we value worshiping together with our children, so our children stay with us for the first part of the service. After that time children ages 3 through 3rd grade leave the service with our blessing to continue their joyful worship through our Children and Worship program. Each week this time of worship utilizes a unique story-telling format and multi-sensory materials to invite children to experience the wonder and mystery of God. On Communion Sundays (the first Sunday of each month) our children stay in the service the entire time.
Robbie Castleman, author of Parenting in the Pew, joined our congregation Saturday, March 14, 2009 for a workshop on Parenting in the Pew. To hear the workshop, click here.
Kids Connection Sunday School (3 years old – 5th grade)
Kids Connection is a kids ministry at Immanuel that meets Sunday mornings at 11 a.m., during the Christian Education hour. Each week kids join together for Interactive Bible stories and age-specific Shepherding groups. Here they learn to apply the Bible story to their life, pray and care for their friends and build healthy relationships with their adult leaders. Throughout the morning kid's interact and learn in so many ways. Don't miss a time to connect with God and connect with other kids at Kids Connection! Sunday school meets at 11:00, immediately following the worship service during the school year.
Sunday school At Immanuel, Sunday school is a time of important learning as children interact with the stories, doctrines, history, and poetry of the Bible. But it doesn't stop here! Our hope and desire is that children of all ages will be transformed by these truths as they learn to apply them to their lives. Typical class size is 10 to 12. Sunday school meets at 11:00, immediately following the worship service during the school year.
Nursery (infant – 3 years old) Our nursery staff and facilities provide a safe and secure environment for infants and walkers through 2 ½ years old and our nursery volunteers love what they do!
